Gallstones occur in the gall bladder.  They form when there is too much cholesterol or pigments in the bile.  They are hard masses composed of bile pigments, cholesterol and calcium salts in varying proportions and can begin as the size of a sand granule and grow to the size of an egg. 
Essential Oils: Fennel, Lemon, Peppermint, Rose and Rosemary.


Gingivitis is the inflammation of the gums.  It can be due to bacterial infection or lack of stimulation to the tissue from the toothbrush.  Symptoms can be unpleasant; pain, bleeding gums, receding gums and bad breath. 
Essential Oils: Fennel, Lavender, Myrrh, Peppermint, Rose, Tea Tree.


Gout is a disease in which a defect in uric acid metabolism causes an excess of the acid and its salts to accumulate in the bloodstream and the joints respectively.  Severe pain often accompanies gout with the joint often becoming red and inflamed.
Essential Oils: Basil, Fennel, Juniper, Pine and Rosemary.


Grief usually occurs in the presence of a sense of loss.  Loss is a part of everyone’s life and requires acknowledgement, participation and the passage of time to heal the change.   Loss of relationship, business, object or opportunity either by death or destruction can cause grief.  
Essential Oils: Bergamot, Cedarwood, Roman Chamomile, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Jasmine Absolute, Lavender, Marjoram, Neroli, Rose and Sandalwood.


Haemorrhoids are an enlargement of the normal spongy blood filled cushions in the walls of the anus, which is usually a consequence of prolonged constipation or, occasional diarrhoea.  The main symptom is bleeding at the end of defecation. 
Essential Oils: Bergamot, Cedarwood, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Neroli, Patchouli and Sandalwood. 

Hay Fever

Hay fever is an allergic reaction affecting the lining of the nose.  It is usually due to the pollen of grasses, trees and other plants, characterised by the inflammation of the membrane lining of the nose and sometimes of the eyes. 
Essential Oils: Cypress, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Marjoram, Neroli and Sandalwood.


Headaches vary in intensity and the pain is felt deep within the skull.  Most headaches are caused by emotional stress or fatigue, but some are symptoms of intracranial disease.

Head Lice

Head lice is commonly associated with childhood.   The tiny lice attach themselves to the hair shafts and become resilient to chemicals that are used to control them.  Itching is the main symptom and the lice must be treated in an initial treatment and then subsequently a week later to ensure eradication.  
Essential Oils: Eucalyptus, Lemon, Lime, Tea Tree and Thyme.


Heartburn is a discomfort or pain, usually burning in character, that is felt behind the breastbone and often appears to rise from the abdomen towards or into the throat.  It may be accompanied by the appearance of acid or bitter fluid in the mouth.

Herpes Simplex II refers to the same condition as a cold sore.  In this case, appearing on the genitals.  It is not known whether it is two viruses or simply the same one manifesting differently.
