Acne

Acne is usually associated with adolescents and is a common inflammatory disorder of the sebaceous glands; the actual cause is unknown. It involves the face, back and chest and is characterised by the presence of blackheads and pustules.
Essential Oils: Bergamot, Cedarwood, German Chamomile, Geranium, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Palmarosa, Rosewood, Sage and Tea Tree.


Allergies

An Allergy is a reaction in which the body becomes hypersensitive to particular antigens that provoke characteristic symptoms whenever they are subsequently inhaled, ingested, injected or otherwise contacted. Allergic reactions are usually first evident on the skin and may be merely local and temporary, e.g. heat rash or contact dermatitis.
Essential Oils: Bergamot, German Chamomile, Roman Chamomile, Lavender, Neroli, Patchouli, Palmarosa, Rose and Sandalwood.


Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia Nervosa is a complex eating disorder. It is most common in female adolescents, in which the person starves themselves or uses other techniques, such as vomiting or taking laxatives to induce weight loss.
Essential Oils: Black Pepper, Cardamon, Eucalyptus, Fennel, Ginger, Grapefruit, Lavender, Orange and Palmarosa.

 
Anxiety

Anxiety is a condition in which anxiety dominates a person’s life. It is the response to the interpretation that one makes of something that happens. Symptoms of anxiety include difficulty in concentration, irritability, tense muscles, aches and pains, nausea, dizziness, breathlessness, sleep problems, dry mouth, decreased or increased appetite and can be acute or chronic.
Essential Oils: Basil, Bergamot, Cedarwood, Geranium, Jasmine Absolute, Lavender, Lemongrass, Lime, Marjoram, Neroli, Orange, Palmarosa and Sandalwood. 


Arthritis

Arthritis is an inflammation of one or more joints, characterised by swelling, warmth, and redness of the overlying skin; pain and restriction of motion is experienced. 
Essential Oils: Basil, German Chamomile, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon Pine and Sage.


Asthma

Asthma inhibits the process of breathing and sufferers experience symptoms such as coughing, wheezing and emotional stress as the bronchial airways narrow. When the bronchial tube spasms, it makes it more difficult for air to make its way in or out of the lungs. Bacteria, allergens and a build up of mucus can govern the severity of the condition.
Essential Oils: Cedarwood, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Geranium, Juniper, Lavender, Marjoram, Peppermint, Pine, Rosemary, Sage and Thyme.


Athlete's Foot

Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection of the skin between the toes encouraged by the presence of bacteria in warm, damp conditions.
Essential Oils: Bergamot, Cardamon, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Palmarosa, Sage, Tea Tree.


Back Pain:

There are numerous reasons for the symptoms of back pain. It is important to determine the source or cause of the pain before receiving specific treatment. Its cause can be from kidney infection, injury, degenerative spine conditions or bad posture.
Essential Oils: Black Pepper, Roman Chamomile, Clary Sage, Ginger, Lavender, Marjoram, Peppermint, Rosemary, Thyme and Vetiver.


Baldness / Alopecia

Baldness is an absence of hair from areas where it normally grows. It includes common baldness in men, which is familial, and in women where the hair loss (Alopecia) is associated with stress or the ageing process. It can be predetermined by our genetic make-up and influenced by the way we handle shock, trauma, illness or change.
Essential Oils: Cedarwood, Roman Chamomile, Clary Sage, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Lime, Neroli, Rosemary and Thyme


Bites and Stings:

Bites from domestic and farm animals such as dogs or horses are generally harmless, but a tetanus injection may be necessary. The most common bites however are from the mosquito and ant. Both become inflamed and itchy however it is the ant bite which is ultimately more painful. Stings may arise from plant, insect or fish, the most common are from a bee or wasp.
Essential Oils: Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemongrass, Marjoram, Patchouli, Peppermint and Tea Tree. Basil, Bergamot and Cedarwood are insect repellents

   
Blisters

Blisters commonly occur on the feet due to pressure and/or a rubbing action from shoes. They are a swelling containing watery fluid and sometimes also blood or pus, within or just beneath the skin.
Essential Oils: Black Pepper, German Chamomile, Roman Chamomile, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Marjoram, Palmarosa, Peppermint, Rosemary, Tea Tree and Vetiver.


Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is the pressure of blood against the walls of the main arteries. Muscular exertion and emotional factors, such as fear, stress and excitement can all raise blood pressure.  The heartbeat is higher when the heart contracts, pumping blood out into the body and lower when the heart relaxes filling it with blood from the veins. 
Essential oils: For Hypotension: Basil, Lemon, Neroli, Peppermint and Rosemary

Boils

A boil is a tender inflamed area of the skin containing pus.  Bacteria entering through a hair follicle or a break in the skin usually causes the infection.  Boils usually heal when the pus is released.
Essential oils: 

Bergamot, German Chamomile, Roman Chamomile, Cedarwood, Lavender, Lemon, Myrrh, Patchouli, Petitgrain, Pine, Tea Tree, Thyme.
